Every day, hundreds of ETH members commute between the Zentrum and H?nggerberg campuses by the electrically powered eLink shuttle bus. On 30 August 2022, ETH Zurich Tours present this shining example of sustainability to the public for the first time.

The eLink buses run three to four times an hour, shuttling ETH students, staff and guests between the Zentrum and H?nggerberg campuses. For two years now, commuting has been even more sustainable – since Autumn Semester 2020, the fleet has been powered by electricity rather than diesel. The shift to electricity saves some 190 tonnes of CO? emissions per year.

On 30 August 2022, the eLink will be the focus of “Electrically on the move”, the new tour from ETH Zurich Tours. Here you’ll discover how the first articulated electric buses were rolled out in the Swiss public transport system. You’ll also learn about the technology and see a demo of the charging process. Afterwards, you can hop on board for a sustainable test trip! Sign up here to take the tour; places are limited. If you’re quick and clever, you may win a prize!
